About MuscleFoundry.com

With great respect and appreciation, I welcome you. It is my sincere desire for this site to be of service to you. Few things in life can compare to the satisfaction of teaching and helping others. So that's one of my prime objectives with MuscleFoundry.com.

I got into the "fitness thing" many, many years ago, first inspired by those campy Charles Atlas ads in comic books ("Tired of getting sand kicked in your face?") Except they were devoid of any irony for me at the time - I was that wimpy kid in the ad, but without even a galpal for the big goon to steal in the first place! It was with an odd mix of surprise and relief that I began to discover others also wrestled with issues of how they looked, had problems with bullies, and generally felt that the world was a mean and scary place. Call them problems of perception. These problems don't necessarily go away just because you've "grown up," or gained a broader perspective and have more control over your life, either. But taking control of your body and honoring it with exercise and healthy eating *does* go a long way toward banishing your adult-onset boogeymen, whatever they may be. I speak from experience.

And so this site aims to guide people who want to improve the physical component of their being, as doing so will, in turn, positively impact their mental and spiritual components as well. This site also means to let you know that your efforts will be under attack constantly. There's big money being made on exploiting our weakness for sugary, salty and fatty foodstuffs. This site is ever-expanding with articles and other media that explain how we're being taken advantage of and how to fight back -- and wind up looking incredible in the bargain! I've been blessed to have had a great many excellent mentors across several spheres of my life; this Web site is my chance now to share with visitors some of what I've learned. The path you're embarking on will not be easy. But it is so well worth it. ...For credibility's sake, I'll be putting on display for you not only my successes, but also many of my failures and embarrassments. Even some of my outright screw-ups; and trust me, I've done quite a few of those. But my overall trajectory has been one of pushing past personal limits and simply maintaining a healthy curiousity about the world.

If you get anything from the growing body of content on this site, I hope it's the understanding that all setbacks, physical or otherwise, are temporary: That is, IF you're willing to get out of the past and move forward. If you'd like to drop me a line or request a link swap, please send an e-mail to ideas@musclefoundry.com. While I can't respond personally to every e-mail, I do read all of them and appreciate your taking your valuable time to share your thoughts. I wish you great success in your quest.
